Your home didn't come with a care manual. So we built one.

Clean Era is the AI-powered cleaning system that hands you a plan built for the exact surfaces in your house so you can stop guessing, stop Googling at 11 p.m., and stop worrying that the wrong spray is about to ruin the thing you just paid for.

Why Clean Era exists

I'm the girl who keeps the instruction manuals. A full drawer of them.

I look up care-and-maintenance instructions before I use anything new. I pull the SDS sheets to see what's actually in my cleaners. I browse EWG when I want a non-toxic alternative. During COVID, we set up a UV disinfection cabinet. I wrote my own cleaning checklists in the Notes app and ran them through Google Translate so my housekeeper could follow them.

Then I tried the cleaning apps. All of them. Sweepy, Tody, Hometasker. None of them told me the thing I actually needed to know — how to clean what I owned without breaking it.

So I added notes to my notes. Every time a product got a bad review, I hunted for an alternative. Every new rug, every new fixture, every renovation — the late-night research would start all over again. Eventually, I gave up. I was drowning in my own lists. I was tired. And the whole time, I was worried I was slowly ruining my floors, my countertops, my faucets, and my furniture, because I kept wondering if I was cleaning them the right way.

Here's what I finally realized: you need a chemistry degree to wipe down your own bathroom. That's not a home-management problem. That's a reading problem. It's a ton of boring manuals, safety data sheets, and ingredient lists that nobody has time to read.

And AI — the thing we're all sick of hearing about — happens to be really, really good at reading boring stuff fast.

I didn't build Clean Era because AI is trendy. I built it because I wanted to protect the things we spent good money on without losing my weekends to a search bar. I'm not trying to turn cleaning into a wellness app, a productivity cult, or a dopamine slot machine. I just want to take the heavy, annoying mental load off your plate. Use AI for exactly what it's good at: reading the manuals so you don't have to. Knowing whether the pH of your cleaner is going to strip the finish off your new hardware. Telling you — in your language — what to do and what to skip.

Generic checklists tell you what to clean. Other apps tell you when to clean. Clean Era tells you how — so you don't accidentally wreck the things you love.

The end of an era. The beginning of a much better one.

What we believe

Cleaning is care, not penance. A cluttered living room doesn't mean you're failing at life. We don't do shame, streaks, or "kitchen overdue" notifications designed to make you feel behind. That's not cleaning. That's just anxiety with a progress bar.

The science matters more than the hack. Viral cleaning advice is often confidently wrong. Vinegar on marble etches it. Harsh polish on unlacquered brass strips the patina you paid for. Abrasives on chrome break the plating. We follow the actual chemistry — pH, reactivity, surface sealants, moisture tolerance — not the aesthetic of it.

The tool should get out of your way. Cleaning is physical. Real hands, wet surfaces, and a real room you're moving through — not a screen you're tapping at. We build for calm tech: the app helps when you open it, then steps back. No notification spam. No leaderboards. No guilt.

Your home is yours. Every checklist is a starting point, not a grade. Edit it. Skip things. Add your own notes. Share it with whoever helps you clean — translated into their language, on any device, without asking them to download yet another app.

What Clean Era actually does

You take a photo of a room. Clean Era identifies what's in it — marble, hardwood, brass, chrome, quartzite, velvet, wool, zellige, and so on — and generates a numbered, material-safe cleaning checklist tailored to those exact surfaces. No guessing. No generic "wipe the counter." No accidentally acid-etching your limestone.

A few examples of what that looks like in practice:

Every checklist is built from our Surface Care Database — a library of material-specific protocols grounded in cleaning chemistry, natural-stone-care standards, and safer-ingredient guidance. It's not scraped tips. It's not a generic AI wrapper. It's a set of rules our system follows so that every plan you get is safe to execute and safe for your surfaces.

And because cleaning is rarely a solo project, you can share any checklist with whoever helps you — a partner, a teen, a housekeeper — with a single link, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French. They check things off without creating an account, without downloading anything, without friction.
